How this ranking works
This is an unofficial ranking of national football teams, not the FIFA ranking. It is based only on the results of the FIFA World Cup: a team gets points for the place it took at a tournament (5 000 for the champion, then fewer for every lower place). The rating today adds up the last four World Cups with weights 100%, 75%, 50% and 25%, so recent results matter more.
